CLINICAL ASSOCIATE-180120-50007116
Performs multiple clinical functions and specialized patient care duties in accordance with established policies and procedures as an integral member of the patient care team.
  • Functions as a team member in the provision of care to patients and collects data for assessment of physical, psychological and social dimensions under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Collects and records vital sign information, reporting abnormal findings to the R.N. Collects and tests specimens on urine, stool, finger stick blood glucose and records results. Completes Q.C.'s as required.
  • Performs phlebotomy, EKG's, Pulse Oximetry, and simple respiratory treatments without medication.
  • Observes, measures and records I&O. Performs Foley Cath/Care.
  • Assists patients with ADL's; personal hygiene, feeding, positioning, ambulating.
  • Assists RN/MD with exams, procedures, and complex dressings.
  • Applies hot/cold packs, TED's, pneumatic boots, binders, splints, ace bandages, soft restraints, etc., according to policy and procedure.
  • Documents care appropriately.
  • Keeps responsible RN informed of patient's care and condition.
  • Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested. Able to perform functions and duties in lower classification.
  • Satisfactorily completes education and training courses and attends continuing educational programs specific to the area or patient care unit of employment.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent (EMT, LPN, completion of one year of nursing school program which includes two semesters of clinical practice; military corpsperson).
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Successful completion of the Cape Cod Hospital written competency exam for NA II.
  • Basic Phlebotomy training program.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Flexible.

Schedule Details: 24 hours per week, 6a-2p and 8a-4p, rotating days, no weekends or holidays
