Job Details:

Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod.  With more than 450 physicians, 4,700 employees, and 1,100 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare operates two-acute care hospitals, the Cape's leading provider of homecare and hospice services (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility (JML Care Center), an assisted living facility (Heritage at Falmouth), the Cape's only local laboratory service (CCHC Laboratory Services) and numerous health programs.  We are currently seeking a dedicated Clinical Educator to join our team at Cape Cod Hospital.



To promote, develop, implement, and evaluate learning & developmental activities for new and existing clinical staff



  1. Assess, plan, develop, implement, evaluate and revise education programs to meet the needs of clinical staff or to comply with federal, state, regulatory or organizational policy 
  2. Serves as a planner for continuing education programs for nurses and other disciplines when indicated according to established guidelines
  3. Participates in continuing education activities as a subject matter expert
  4. Demonstrates professional leadership in nursing practice, concepts, principles and interventions
  5. Conducts and manages multiple educational programs for varied audiences while adhering to a high standard of customer service
  6. Collaborates with management to ensure ongoing educational needs are met
  7. Develops strategies and processes to support education systems
  8. Provides clinical instruction to staff  for competency development
  9. Provides orientation to new clinical and transition staff
  10. Evaluates staff performance as well as assist in the development of remedial employees as requested by management
  11. Participates in quality patient care indicators
  12. Adheres to all patient safety and blood & body fluid precautions
  13. Maintains and updates department specific competencies
  14. Provides guidance and recommendations on curricula and learning systems where indicated
  15. Exemplifies a high standard of customer service
  16. Participates as well as plans activities that further professional growth for self and other clinical staff
  17. Responsible for maintaining an advanced understanding of departmental and healthcare system programs as well as upkeep of programs
  18. Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics
  19. Engages in projects and other functions upon request.

Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects Cape Cod Healthcare's commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service.



·         Current RN license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 

·         BSN required. MSN preferred.

·         Three years recent acute healthcare nursing experience

·         Experience in assigned clinical area required

·         Experience and proficiency using electronic medical record

·         Clinical Education experience preferred 

·         Maintain BLS certification

·         Maintain certifications appropriate to assigned clinical areas


Critical Care: 

3 years recent Critical Care experience preferred

Procedural Sedation experience preferred


Basic Arrhythmia Challenge exam

CCRN preferred

Neuro experience preferred


Medical Surgical Care Areas:

3 years recent Medical/Surgical experience required

ACLS required for N3/N3A

Basic Arrhythmia Challenge Exam

Medical-Surgical Certification preferred

Oncology Certification preferred

Peritoneal Dialysis experience preferred
