Serves as a liaison and builds collaborative relationships between Informatics and operational users to ensure the optimum design and use of clinical software and workflows for patient safety, patient experience, resource efficiency and revenue capture. This position is responsible for identifying opportunities to optimize key business processes, analyzing and articulating current state workflows and identifying barriers to optimization.
  • Provides strategic direction to medical informatics programs relating to patient care services and related projects.
  • Consults with and serves as a liaison with the clinical staff and appropriate committees for the purpose of ensuring coordination in systems planning development and implementation of programs between the clinical departments the Information Services Department and appropriate external organizations.
  • Participates in assessments of medical informatics environments synthesizes pertinent information and identifies implications for planning and development of both clinical services and educational programs.
  • Provides periodic structured environmental assessment and recommendations relative to future direction for medical informatics for Cape Cod Healthcare.
  • Serves as resource for other Informatics Specialists in the department.
  • In collaboration with Administration Medical and Nursing Staff participates in identifying the needs of Cape Cod Healthcare in the areas of education training programs and services requiring computer skills and competencies in support of patient care quality utilization and clinical resource management supporting performance improvement initiatives.
  • Conducts ongoing technology assessment of medical information systems and products related to identifying and meeting patient needs CCHC clinical departments and potential external collaborations.
  • Provides support for the development and implementation of health care informatics programs products and services particularly to address the clinical needs of patients and to support the practice of clinical staff.
  • Responsible for assessing training and development needs of clinical staff in relation to electronic development of programs products and services Collaboratively develops curriculum for students and staff designing and implementing programs to address needs with the HR Corporate Education department.
  • Provides expert support to other departments in the development of clinical information systems products and services responsive to current and future needs.
  • Advises on all issues related to access and data distribution requirements Tracks and provides recommendations relevant to industry standards for clinical support.
  • Responsible for assessment of needs and implementation of strategies to link educational products including practice guidelines (caremaps) to practice based electronic medical records systems as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with hospital leadership and department representatives in the development of new and enhanced Web based programs Serves as liaison for related activities and the overall integration of programs and products with hospital wide electronic implications.
  • Performs others duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's Degree in a clinical discipline (RN Pharmacist Med Tech etc ) required Masters degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self directed learn quickly with strong attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage day to day project and operational tasks establishes priorities and is flexible to accommodate changes in priorities to reflect the needs of the work environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical or business practice standards legal and ethical principles patient safety outcomes measures and continuous quality improvement principles.
  • Knowledge of departmental clinical operations workflow policies and procedures.

Schedule Details: Full time 40 Hours per week, 8a-5p Monday-Friday.
