Description
Assist in all aspects of the ED to process patients in a timely manner
  • Must be courteous to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Assist with moving the patient through the department; transport, ambulating to the bathroom; to bed, to wheel chair.
  • EKGS.
  • Lab draws.
  • Assist with crutch fitting and walking.
  • Assist in Triage as needed.
  • Attach patients on monitors.
  • Participate in Traumas per Trauma Protocol.
  • Stock area daily.
  • Bag EMS equipment to Ambulance foyer.
  • Check PPE kits in assigned rooms.
  • Check clothes in foyer and call families.
  • Assist with decontamination as needed.
  • Applies compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles.
  • Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.
  • Bathes, dresses, and assists patients in walking and turning.
  • Cleans rooms, makes beds, and answers patients' calls.
  • Washes and dresses bodies of deceased persons.
  • Assists in delivery, care, and feeding of infants.
  • Inventories and requisitions supplies.
  • Demonstrates through clinical practice the use of universal precautions, understands the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogens Standards.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and/or practice in the prevention of TB transmission and adheres to all other infection control policies.
  • Must wear facility provided identification badge at all times.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
 
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Lab Draw class at FH within 6 months of hire.
  • Physical Therapy Tech Class after 6 months of hire, within 1 year of hire.
  • Must have ability to read, write, understand English
  • Must have taken the EKG course.
  • BLS.
  • EMT P License.

Schedule Details: Per diem hours, rotating days, occ weekends, occ holidays
