Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod.  With more than 450 physicians, 4,700 employees, and 1,100 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare operates two-acute care hospitals, the Cape's leading provider of homecare and hospice services (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility (JML Care Center), an assisted living facility (Heritage at Falmouth), the Cape's only local laboratory service (CCHC Laboratory Services) and numerous health programs.  We are currently seeking a dedicated Director of Physician Revenue Cycle to join our team at Cape Cod Healthcare.

Oversees day-to-day operations for CCHC Physician Revenue Cycle practices including MSSP, Emerald Physicians, Emergency room and urgent care professional billing with .  goals of maximizing cash flow, effectively resolving outstanding receivables, and providing service to internal and external clients/patients in a professional and efficient manner.



  1. In collaboration with Executive Director Revenue and Reimbursement, and VP of Revenue Cycle, establishes processes for an effective revenue cycle, ensures excellent customer service is given to patients, staff, and other users who interact with the department.
  2. Plan, coordinate and implement new centralized physician revenue cycle
  3. Plan, lead and coordinate new billing system implementation to ECW
  4. Organizes the billing and collection activities of revenue cycle
  5. Create metrics and reporting tools to monitor and enhance Revenue Cycle performance.
  6. Administers corporate and departmental policies and procedures to ensure ethical and sound business practices and procedures are followed.
  7. Evaluates, monitors, and communicates identification of the organization's registration, charge entry, and coding problems impeding the revenue cycle process, in relation to billing and AR resolution. 
  8. Responsible for managing and supervising Revenue Cycle Staff including:
    1.  Assist, mentors, and promotes the growth of the department's staff in achieving objectives and duties. 
    2. Measures and reviews staff performance and quality, recommending and assigning training. 
    3. Responsible for the professional conduct of staff and maintaining a professional work code and environment.
    4. Assist with new hire on-boarding (interviewing, training, assessing)


  1. Work collaboratively with other members of management to find solutions, create policy and monitor for successful resolution.
  2. Evaluates and monitors daily process controls to meet departmental effectiveness and efficiency standards.
  3. Responsible for implementing changes needed to comply with third party/governmental rules and requirements, coordinating the training of staff on these changes.
  4. Ensures department areas timely and accurate response to patient and internal inquiries.
  5. Independently initiate and manage projects designed to improve team efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  6. Perform other work related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience of 3-5 years.

·         Required 3-5 years experience of physician receivables, third party billing and payment requirements, medical terminology, and ICD9 and CPT4 coding.

·         Ability to evaluate personal performance against established goals.

·         Athena experience required. 

·         Demonstrates goal-oriented thinking, leadership ability, and strong interpersonal, operational and organizational skills.

·         Prior experience enforcing, maintaining, and updating department policies and procedures.

·         Excellent communication skills, including listening, writing, and relationship development.

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

·         Prior experience supervising a group of individuals from both a development and personal issues standpoint.
