Description
Provide strategic oversight, leadership, and direction of supply chain services for the system. Supply chain services encompass: ordering, receiving, distribution, inventory, logistics, contracting, value analysis, mail, courier, satellite linen, printing, record storage and retention, coordination with accounts payable. %0ABuild and lead highly functional team that interfaces with hospital and affiliated entities to deliver supply chain cost reductions and improved efficiency through various methodologies: product standardization and utilization, consolidated logistics, contracting, and information technology. Lead the system in understanding methods and processes required to achieve measurable, sustainable results.
  • Develop business plans, operating budgets and performance metrics to measure, control, and guide activities. Manage and operate within budgetary guidelines.
  • Provide leadership for supply chain services in all areas
  • Manage team and facilitate operational meetings
  • Provide, encourage, and/or mandate continuing education of all supply chain directors, managers, and staff
  • Report monthly performance to CFO including financial statements, KPI’s and operational reporting
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategic plan consistent with system’s strategic plan and provide input/guidance to prioritize initiatives
  • Develop and execute overall contract strategy which optimizes the contract portfolio
  • Manage relationship with GPO including the following:
    • Ensuring compliance with contract terms
    • Serving as the day to day interface between CCHC and the GPO
    • Representing or delegating representation of CCHC on GPO committees
    • Tracking savings initiatives
  • Provide education to physicians, administrators, clinicians and department managers in developing an understanding of contracts that support operational and financial goals
  • Communicate, present opportunities and resolve issues with supply chain and operational leadership; assist department managers with addressing cost, utilization and regulatory issues
  • Lead vendor negotiations with national, regional and local suppliers
  • Lead capital procurement process to optimize contract terms and pricing. Coordinate with stakeholder departments such as IT, facilities, clinical engineering, education, and nursing.
  • Communicate value proposition to prospective suppliers to support contracting process
  • Provide strategic direction and decision making for Value Analysis Teams (i.e., standardizations programs, committed programs, physician preference products, and outsourcing vs. in-sourcing).
  • Develop and ensure compliance with the following policies and procedure:
    • Procure to pay including financial controls and segregation of duties
    • Inventory replenishment
    • Contract and negotiations
    • Standard contracting terms
    • Data collection and analytics
    • Cost savings measurement and tracking
    • Conflict of Interest and Ethical Standards
    • Value Analysis (product/service evaluation)
    • Vendor credentialing and management
    • Contract implementation and monitoring
    • Key Performance Indicator measurement and tracking
  • Provide executive sponsorship of Value Analysis Teams and ad-hoc groups to support cost, quality, and outcomes
  • Assess, implement, and manage automation and operational efficiencies
  • Maintain and update item master and vendor master and ensure coordination with charge master
  • Demonstrate leadership in the supply chain industry through participation in national organizations
  • Coordinates the system’s external record storage program including user access, education, and training. In conjunction with CCHC Legal/Corporate Compliance, ensures all appropriate retention periods are assigned and destruction completed
  • Performing other duties as required to effectively lead supply chain processes.

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) business, health care management, public health administration required
  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of combined complex healthcare purchasing and contract management experience in a complex health system, group purchasing organization, health care supply chain business or consulting firm
  • Certification through nationally recognized organization such as AHRMM or ISM preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and business acumen skills at the C-suite level
  • Thorough understanding of strategic healthcare supply chain leadership
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead others
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Facilitation, conflict resolution and consensus building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced user of supply chain information technology and Microsoft Office products
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and prioritizing projects, timelines, and deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge, experience and results in strategic sourcing, commodity and economic analysis
  • Ability to innovate
  • Ability to analyze market conditions and trends and initiate proactive steps to improve supply chain conditions
  • Ability to lead people, work in a team, and influence individuals of varied job responsibilities and levels.

Schedule Details: Full time, 40 hours per week, 8a-4p Monday-Friday, occ. w/e, occ. holiday.
