Job Details

Maintain integrity of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in all mediums according to department policy and procedures.
  • Opens and sorts incoming mail.
  • Collects hospital discharge records and uses hospital discharge list to reconcile receipt of paper charts.
  • Prepares the paper medical record for scanning.
  • Scans and indexes paper documents into the EMR.
  • Electronically analyzes, reanalyzes, and assigns signature deficiencies to the appropriate practitioner in the Chart Completion Module.
  • Performs quality reviews of scanned and interfaced images in the EMR and verifies the quality of image, accuracy of patient name, appropriate bar code, account number and document type.
  • Resolves issues with scanned and interfaced documents.
  • Maintains Turn-Around-Time (TAT) for prepping, scanning, analysis, and quality control of documents.
  • Sorts and scans loose sheets into EMR accurately on a daily basis. Retrieves, signs out, and delivers hybrid medical records as requested for patient care, correspondence, studies, or audits.
  • Performs file maintenance and prepares records for offsite storage.
  • Responds to requests for patient information in a timely manner.
  • Processes and files Advanced Healthcare Directives in accordance with Federal and/or State Statutes and Hospital/Departmental procedures.
  • Performs other job related duties and assignments as requested.

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 12 months experience utilizing an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system OR successful passage of the Medical Record Department Qualifying test OR 12 months continuous experience within the past 3 years as a Health Record Clerk, Health Record Technician or Health Record Analyst.
  • Successful passage of basic Medical Terminology course OR successful passage of the CCHC Medical Terminology exam.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate efficiently. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve, organize and prioritize workload to meet turn-around-time benchmarks.

Schedule Details: 16 Hours per week 8 hr shift between 7a-7p, Saturday and Sunday, every holiday
