Description
Under the direction of the department supervisor or designee, provide the highest standards of clinical support to the physician practice. Delivers excellent customer service to patients through participation in a medical care team. Demonstrates a high level of competence with clerical support
  • Manages patient flow for clinicians.
  • Determines urgency and priority of walk in and add on patients, patient consults, etc.
  • Manages clinicians daily schedule to expedite care and maximize clinical time.
  • Coordinates the practice when clinicians are not available, ensuring that telephone calls are triaged appropriately and clinicians receive necessary information.
  • Monitors practice issues and problems and identify and solve concerns regarding patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines.
  • Advocates for patients, as appropriate.
  • Assists in resolving patients concerns.
  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
  • Obtains relevant information and takes vital signs: blood pressure temperature, pulse, weight, and respirations.
  • Inputs pertinent clinical information into medical record.
  • Assists clinicians with clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department.
  • May advise patient of preparation required for exam or additional testing specific to the department and keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information.
  • Ensures that exam rooms are prepared and/or maintained.
  • Cleans and/or maintains supplies and equipment.
  • Retrieve calls from prescription line and complete refills as needed.
  • Order all medical supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Provides clerical/office support as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
 
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Associates degree in medical assisting or graduate of certificate program preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Massachusetts.
  • A Minimum of two years experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, time management skills required.
  • Experience with current office technology, proficient with computer office applications.
  • Basic Life Support Certification required.

Schedule Details: 16 Hours per week 8a-4p rotating weekdays
