Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod.  With more than 450 physicians, 4,700 employees, and 1,100 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare operates two-acute care hospitals, the Cape's leading provider of homecare and hospice services (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility (JML Care Center), an assisted living facility (Heritage at Falmouth), the Cape's only local laboratory service (CCHC Laboratory Services) and numerous health programs.  We are currently seeking a dedicated Manager to join our team at Cape Cod Hospital.

Ensures all Radiology Department employees are able to perform at the required level of competency, meeting job and regulatory requirements and organizational policies.  Develops and manages process improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives to improve the efficiency and workflow of the department.  Provides management support for department operations and assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of the director.



1.          Ensures the continuing education and training needs of department employees are met:

a.     Assesses learning needs and identifies needed education and training for employees to meet job requirements and/or comply with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

b.     Coordinates with department director to ensure needed education and/or on-the-job training are provided to employees.  Provides clinical instruction to staff for competency development.

c.      Maintains and updates clinical competencies for all radiology positions and modalities.

2.     Responsible for aggregating and reporting monthly operational, performance, access and customer satisfaction metrics that are benchmarked against internal and external sources and goals, using the metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in each area, then chartering and/or leading teams and initiatives to show sustained and continued performance improvement.


3.          Oversees Radiology Technologist program affiliation between Cape Cod Hospital and Massasoit Community College and Affiliated Colleges.


4.          Maintains files on licensed staff and reports on compliance of patient care assessment.  Maintains and verifies continuing education credits of registered technologists. 


5.          Evaluates performance of new clinical staff and develops remediation or performance improvement plans, as needed, in consultation with director.


6.        Collaborates with management, physicians and staff to identify, develop and facilitate process improvement and patient satisfaction opportunities internally within Radiology and externally with other departments through CCHC.


7.          Maintains updated and effective department policies, procedures and work rules, including safety, disaster and security programs, and actively promotes their application within the department.


8.          Directs maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff.  Participates in quality assurance.


9.          Maintains ACR in accordance with their current standards:

·       Establishes and maintains policy and procedures

·       Prepares and submits pertinent data to regulatory agencies for accreditation

·       Maintains all current registrations, licenses and certificates


10.       Ensures compliance with standards of work performance and behavior on the job, informing employees of these standards and assisting them as needed.


11.       Reports to the director on the operation of the department and keeps in him/her informed of important matters affecting department/hospital operations.  Collaborates with Director to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.


12.       Demonstrates professional leadership in imaging practices, concepts, principles and interventions.  Maintains professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise and meet or exceed requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Massachusetts State License Board.


13.       Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.




·       Bachelor's degree in diagnostic imaging, radiological sciences or other healthcare-related field of study, Preferred

·       Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

·       Valid Massachusetts State license.

·       Five to ten years of progressive experience as a supervisor/manager, chief technologist and technologist.

·       Knowledge, skills and experience in process improvement and service excellence strategies with demonstrated, measurable results in reducing patient wait times, improving patient satisfaction scores, and addressing quality/safety outcomes.  Previous training and/or certification desired in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other process improvement/service excellence methodologies.

·       Ability to engage staff and work collaboratively in a team setting.

·       Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·       Strong oral and written communication skills.

·       Excellent customer service skills and track record of accountability and results.
