To design, implement, oversee, and troubleshoot the Cape Cod Healthcare WAN and LANs. Applicable age group of patients served by employee: Not Applicable
  • Design, implement, manage, and trouble shoot CCHC LANs and WAN.
  • Create and maintain a plan for the future direction of the CCHC LANs and WAN. Examine new technologies for potential use in this process.
  • Assist operations staff in performing daily operational tasks.
  • Monitor processes and work to improve them.
  • Supervise operations staff as needed and when Manager of Network and Technical Services is off campus.
  • Make recommendations on and assist in the purchase of information systems hardware and software.
  • Maintain LAN and WAN diagrams, documentation and inventory.
  • Grant access to network services as needed.
  • Perform daily operational tasks to maintain and improve hospital workstation and server performance.
  • Document information systems flow and procedures as required.
  • Serve on hospital committees and task forces as directed. Participate in department on - call rotation.
  • Assume other duties as directed.

  • BS/BA required or an equivalent amount of related experience and education obtained that demonstrates the necessary skills and abilities to perform this job. Five years or more experience in implementation, management and troubleshooting of local area and wide area network hardware and operating systems.
  • Microsoft Certified Network Engineer certification, Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated in depth knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP (routing, network operating systems, Windows.
  • Five years or more experience working with LAN and WAN hardware including Ethernet and Fiber optic interfaces, routers, switches, network management software, Netscout and VPN technology. WiFi and Spectrum Analysis experience preferred.
  • 3 or more years experience working with Microsoft products such as SQL Server, Proxy Server, Internet Server, MS Exchange Server or equivalent. Proven ability to coordinate and lead others through project implementation and to communicate effectively (written and oral) at all levels.
