Description
To provide professional nursing care and support for office patients receiving treatments, examinations, evaluations, etc. Through the nursing process of assessment and evaluation while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of departmental policy

Under the supervision of the Provider or Regional Nurse Manager, assist in providing nursing care to office patients. Assists in the assessment of patient needs and treatment plan by determining complaints or follow up needs, taking patient history and vital signs, and, reconciling medications, and compiling necessary date for visit.

  • Implement provider's orders for EKGs, dressing changes, routine injections. Obtain necessary consents when required.
  • Triage telephone calls and walk-in patients with complete follow-through, process prescription refills, answer patient questions.
  • Maintain necessary supplies, and equipment.
  • Obtain verbal and written reports from outside agencies such as, VNA, radiology, or other physician's offices with timely, concise transmittal to physician.
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information. Serve as an advocate and provide a safe and secure environment. Participate in identification of the important aspects of care for each patient, the identification of indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care.
  • Assess personal and learning developmental needs and act as a resource person. Participate in nursing meetings and other activities which promote the growth and developmental of nursing and patient care.
  • Assist with duties as needed including scheduling, greeting and registering patients.
  • Perform other work related duties as requested/directed. Work cooperatively with co-workers and communicate politely with department employees, patients, visitors and other personnel within and outside the office.
  • Maintain chart documentation to ensure all information about visit is completed and documented correctly.
  • Administers injections and documents appropriately.
  • Provides patient teaching and instruction.
  • Triages patients to determine which are emergencies and provides immediate support if deemed necessary. Notifies provider of medical emergencies.

Qualifications:
 
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Currently licensed as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Proficient in computer office applications.

Schedule Details: 7a-5:30pm 4 TBD days per week
