We are currently seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner/PA to join our team at Cape Cod Healthcare.

ROLE:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the promotion, protection and preservation of the health of CCHC employees by providing for and delivering consistent, coordinated health care services to workers throughout CCHC entities and affiliates.

 

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Under the administrative direction of the Director of Occupational Health Services and the medical direction of the Occupational Health Services Medical Director will:

 

1. Perform preplacement medical examinations for new employees.

2. Provide medical assessments and health services to employees who become ill or injured at work in conjunction with the Emergency Center.

3. Provide medical review of surveillance/immunization records of contracted employees, physicians, volunteers and others.

4. Assist with Tuberculosis Surveillance/Hepatitis B Immunization programs and provide mantoux skin testing, inoculations and vaccines for employees per hospital policy.

5. Perform return to work assessments to ensure fitness for duty and safe workplace environment.

6. Promote and provide preventative health and wellness counseling.

7. Assist with coordination of care; physician referrals, transitional duties, and so forth.

8. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.

9. Maintains professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge: Three to five years of progressive responsibility in evaluation, diagnosis, care and management of medical emergencies, illnesses/injuries. Sound basic knowledge of blood/body fluid post-exposure management protocols, mantoux testing and hepatitis B, measles and flu immunization practices. 3-5 years of Occupational Health experience desirable with a basic knowledge of worker's compensation, OSHA, ADA and DPH regulations. COHN-S, CCM preferred. US Department of Justice and Massachusetts' Controlled Substance DEA Registrations are required for prescribing practitioners. Legal/Hospital Requirements:

 

1) Nurse Practitioner - Current Massachusetts Nurse licensure in advanced practice.

- Basic Life Support Certification

 

2) Physician Assistant - Current Mass Board of Physician Assistant licensure with a designated supervising M.D.

- Current (National Commission or Certification of Physician Assistants) NCCPA certification

- Basic Life Support Certification
