Description
Assists in the operation of the Pulmonary Function Lab according to department policies and procedures.
  • Perform pulmonary diagnostic studies.
  • Provide daily support for the lab including ordering of equipment and supplies.
  • Perform daily telephone calls to confirm appointments.
  • Complete billing procedures and daily reconciliation.
  • Assist in departmental planning, development of policies and procedures and monitoring of Quality Assurance/Improvement plans.
  • Train pulmonary/respiratory therapists in pulmonary function testing.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through approved seminars and professional affiliations appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Perform other work related duties as requested/required.

Qualifications:
 
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Board Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • Massachusetts state licensure in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Two years of experience in Pulmonary Function testing preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Copy of highest level degree and/or transcript in a clinical field or specialty, If no degree a copy of high school diploma.

Schedule Details: Per Diem, rotating days, occasional weekends and holidays
