Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod.  With more than 450 physicians, 4,700 employees, and 1,100 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare operates two-acute care hospitals, the Cape's leading provider of homecare and hospice services (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility (JML Care Center), an assisted living facility (Heritage at Falmouth), the Cape's only local laboratory service (CCHC Laboratory Services) and numerous health programs.  We are currently seeking a dedicated Technician Specialist to join our Information Systems team at Falmouth Hospital.

Provide daily repair, configuration, and out of the box set up of peripheral devices, including PC's, printers, scanners, and other electronic devices in a large, complex network.



1.     Configure, install, maintain, and trouble shoot scanners, printers, electronics, cable, and other peripheral devices in local and wide area networks.

2.     Configure, install, maintain, and trouble shoot PC Workstations including application installation and debugging, network client installation and maintenance.

3.     Assist with network management and monitoring.   

4.     Performs daily backup of all computer systems to tape. Ensures secure storage and transportation of backups to the appropriate location away from the data center. 

5.     Performs daily operational tasks including fielding helpdesk calls, maintaining problem / solution database and loading tapes.

6.     Prepares daily systems log and maintains written documentation and inventory of all systems devices.

7.     Regularly takes part in technical training

8.     On-call and weekend work are required. 

9.     Attends departmental and user meetings as required. 

10.  Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Associate in Science with major in Information Systems, Engineering, or Equivalent school/work related experience.
  • Minimum of three years hands-on experience as a Computer Technician. 
  • Experience with the installation and use of computer application software focusing on Microsoft products such as Windows Operating Systems and Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio)
  • Two years experience in a multi-platform environment supporting its networking infrastructure, operating systems and protocols.
  • Proven, strong problem solving and analytical skills including identifying and resolving computer and peripheral setup, trouble shooting, and component failure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively without supervision.
  • Proven, very strong interpersonal relation skills.
  • Valid Massachusetts drivers license for automobiles.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Completion of Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) IT Infrastructure Certification will move this position to a grade FHS10.
