Description
The primary purpose of your job is to coordinate serving of food to ensure quality products for meal service To maintain propoer sanitary levels throughout food preparation service and storage and of equipment and work areas and to utilize interventions appropriate to meet the needs of Heritage in accordance with current applicable Heritage Federal State and Local standars guidelines and regulations and to follow our established policies andprocedures as directed by your supervisor to assure that quality food is provided at all times and a sanitary environment is maintained at all times
  • Is knowledgeable of and understands food related needs of resident population Coordinates serving of foods to ensure quality products for established meal service times
  • Serves meals for residents employees and visitors according to written menu production sheets and food handling procedures
  • Effectively communicates information to residents regarding meal choices flavor availability presentation and preparation
  • Understands daily menu as explained by chef or cook
  • Puts supplies and equipment away in appropriate and designated areas Completes all side work and cleaning assignments
  • Performs work that is instructed by supervisor
  • Prepares food items for special functions
  • Replenish and restock condiments in the kitchen and dining room including but not limited to individual milk and creamers napkins silver ware and replace empty salt and pepper containers
  • Sanitizes dining room tables chairs and wash trays
  • Washes dining room windows
  • Stocks as necessary
  • Utilizes leftovers as instructed
  • Consistently and carefully covers dates and identifies all open food according to department expectations and Food Serve Safe guidelines
  • Possesses working knowledge of serving fundamentals
  • Uses a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment including choppers blenders mixers ovens and ranges fryolators steam jacket kettles knives and slicers Executes department practices procedures safety regulations and guidelines Maintains required sanitary levels throughout food preparation service and storage
  • Ensures proper handling and sanitation of various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Ensures all food handling and sanitation is in conjunction with local and corporate health and sanitation requirements
  • Assists in dishwashing functions
  • Sweeps and mops daily
  • Mops walk in cooler daily
  • Maintains proper levels of detergents and chemicals in dish machine silver soak system and degreaser
  • Has competent understanding of all chemicals and uses them in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Follows OSHA regulations in bending lifting and using equipment
  • Empties all trash and keep all work areas clean
  • Sweeps and mops all floors after each meal
  • Cleans all cooking and related equipment according to appropriate practices Regularly cleans dishwasher and maintains its working order
  • Regularly cleans kitchen equipment
  • Receives follows and ensures that all schedules are followed as outlined by supervisor
  • Performs tasks as directed in accordance with established procedures
  • Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested Cleans areas as directed
  • Reports to manager whenever supplies need to be ordered
  • Performs unscheduled activity tasks as directed
  • Peels and preps and performs other related food prep tasks
  • Reports repairs or replacement parts needed for equipment
  • Assists in putting away deliveries Is willing to do any and all tasks deemed necessary by supervisor to meet the needs of residents and Heritage at Falmouth
  • Reports all accidents incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be (NOTE Such occurrences must be reported on the shift on which they occur) Immediately reports any personal accident or work related injury to your supervisor or designee
  • Agrees not to disclose assigned user ID code and Password for accessing resident facility information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Executive Director or designee Inspects kitchen and all service areas on a daily basis to ensure that the areas including walls floors and surrounding areas and equipment are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedure and all hazardous areas are properly identified
  • Assures that the kitchen areas and equipment are properly maintained for convenience and safety operating to manufacturer s specifications
  • Assists in the safety and security of Heritage Maintains appropriate records as directed
  • Follows food service programs activities as necessary approved
  • Reports and assists in identifying and correcting problem areas and equipment and or improvement of services when applicable
  • Performs other related duties and activities as may become necessary or as directed supervisor
  • Reports and maintains an adequate level of required supplies and equipment Follows polices that will effectively maintain food service program and services for Heritage Completes necessary forms reports etc submitting such to supervisor as required
  • Maintains accurate and complete documentation Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter departmental personnel and other departments within Heritage to assure that all functions can be properly planned and maintained to meet the needs of Heritage
  • Participates in programs designed for in service education on the job training and orientation classes
  • Adheres to department working hours and completes assignments within guidelines set by supervisor
  • Adheres to Universal Precautions and Infection Control Policies including following established hand washing procedures use of appropriate PPE and supplies when handling infectious materials
  • Follows established policies governing the use disposal of PPE and disposal of infectious wastes
  • Disposes of refuse trash daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures
  • Has a competent understanding of all chemicals and has been trained to use them in accordance with standards
  • Wear and or use safety equipment and supplies and uses proper mechanics while performing duties (e g back brace mechanical lifts etc when moving or lifting heavy objects)
  • Keeps work area(s) free of hazardous conditions i e grease oil spills excess supplies equipment etc to assure that all established safety rules regulations are followed at all times
  • Refers to materials safety when necessary
  • Follows established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs
  • Ensures that work assignment areas are clean and equipment tools supplies etc are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks end of work day etc Performs other related duties and activities as may be become necessary or as directed by supervisor

Qualifications:
 
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • At least 2 to 5 years wait staff experience

Schedule Details: 32 hours a week, between the hours of 11a-7p, e/o weekend, rotating holidays
